From now on delayed & default picks will automatically be checked for by the system every fifteen minutes. Previously, the links had to be manually clicked in order to move the drafts forward, but switching hosting companies has allowed for the change.
In the future, I hope to improve the draft list and round designation system to continue to upgrade.

| Fantasy Baseball Example Draft |
2/15/10 |
I've set up an example draft page for Fantasy Baseball to help those who aren't familiar with the ASFL2 Slow Drafts application. The example draft now functions entirely as a normal ASFL2 slow draft would. Type "Team #" in any "Your Name" field with "team#" being the corresponding password. The only feature not available is the ability to change a password. If you have any questions, feel free to email me.

| New ASFL2 Money Leagues |
2/12/10 |
The league has opened up Money Leagues in an effort to expand the portfolio of offerings, provide a new means of competition and most importantly...raise funds for the league to make it viable for the long term.
There are four different buy-in options (three for basketball and hockey), four different league sizes, two draft options and two max transaction options. If interested, fill out the purchase form (top link on the left). If you have any questions feel free to reply to this thread or email me.
With the new addition, the league's navigation has been adjusted. The old history section is now linked from the Standings tab.

| 2010-2011 ASFL2 Keeper Leagues Fantasy Baseball |

All available teams have been given out. It would take about 5-7 new sign ups by the end of February for me to attempt to start a new Fifth Division. All draft pages should be ready to go by Saturday evening.

| We've Moved |
2/6/10 |
I've officially changed the website's servers over and as a result there are likely to be a few errors on the website as a result of the move. Please help out if you find any via this thread.
|
| We're Moving |
2/3/10 |
That's right, ASFL2 is moving, but don't worry it won't require you change your bookmarks. I've changed the website's hosting company as it should cut the cost nearly in half to improve the long term viability of the league.
Due to the move, I'll have to fix a few lines of code on each page of the ASFL2 website, if you notice any display errors in the next two weeks please let me know via email as it's likely due to the move. I don't anticipate any down time, but there is a chance of it. Please submit your ASFL2 Fantasy NFL Playoffs entries for the Super Bowl as early as possible to avoid any possible problems.
|
| Fantasy Baseball Keeper Selection Deadline Reminder |
1/31/10 |
The deadline to submit your players to be kept for the 2010 Fantasy Baseball season is 11:59 PM EST tonight. If you experience any problems while trying to change your keepers please notify me immediately and explain what you're trying to do. Problems may arise from attempting to keep fewer players than you had previously kept.

| ASFL2 Super Bowl Pool? |
1/26/10 |
In preparing to work on create the ASFL2 Money Leagues website, the idea to run an ASFL2 Super Bowl Pool popped into my head. It's likely too late to run one for this season, but I can't help but try to put a feeler out.
Blocks will be $1 with no limit to the amount you can purchase. Any unpurchased blocks will go to the "house" with a minimum of 50 needed to be sold for the pool to go on. Ideally I would have liked to of done some research on frequencies and changed the odds up for block selections, but it's too late for that. For this go round, I'm open to it either being randomized or member's selecting depending on the popular choice amongst those participating.
For more information on how it works and how the payouts will work and/or to express your interest please go to this thread on the message board. Paypal is the strongly preferred method of payment. If you can't get to the message board thread, email me if interested.

| ASASFL & ASFL2 Keeper Leagues Standings Upgrade/Update |
1/26/10 |
I've spent over a week upgrading the ASASFL & ASFL2 Keeper Leagues's Fantasy Hockey, Fantasy Basketball and Fantasy Baseball standings pages to the same standard as the regular ASFL2 competition's. They've also now been updated through results of this past Sunday. You can view each league's weekly won/loss standings, roto standings and projected championship standings points before the end of the season now. You can also view the schedule for each league as well.

| Fantasy NFL Playoffs Mistake |
1/10/10 |
I've accidently cleared out the Fantasy NFL Playoffs member database while updating the playoff stats. I coded an email log of entries as a back up for this instance (which I've manually re-entered), but to save time I didn't code a method for email logs of member log-in information. As a result of the latter, I've had to set everyone's password to whatever was used for NFL Playoffs Pickem, but I have added a link to the game page that will allow you to reset your email or receive an email reminder with your password.
My apologies for the inconvenience. The deadline for next week is next Saturday, January 16th at 4:27 PM EST.

|
| College Bowl Pickem Results |
1/8/10 |
The first game to be run entirely on the website in league history has completed and Bryan Crouch gets the distinction of winning it. You can view the final standings on the game standings page and the final championship point totals on the championship points standings page.
Remember the deadline for NFL Playoffs Pickem is tomorrow at 4:27 PM EST. That is also the deadline for Wild Card Round lineups in Fantasy NFL Playoffs.

| New Season, New Standings |
1/7/10 |
When Michael Bradley & Martin Laird tee off at 1:50 PM EST today, the 2010-2011 ASFL2 season will be underway. As a result of that, the new standings pages are now available in prepartion for Sunday's first update. Go to the Standings Home Page to view the new standings. Members will be added to the overall standings if they are confirmed and are a part of an ASFL2 fantasy game before it's start or once they earn a championship point in a game, or once a game they've participated in has completed. All who join Fantasy Golf this weekend will be added to the game standings page as the weekend goes along.
All relevant history standings pages have also been set up to update along with golf results Sunday and with each subsequent update.

| 2009-2010 Season Deadline |
12/31/09 |
It's the 365th day of 2009 and that means it's the last day for members who sign up to be able to earn championship points for the 2009-2010 season. From tomorrow on, new members will only be eligible for fantasy games of the 2010-2011 ASFL2 season.
Members who join after midnight on the first day of the year will still be able to participate for free in 2009-2010 games run through the league website by choosing the "No" option when asked about their membership status to seclude them from the championship points calculations. If you have any questions email me.

| Hunt for a New Logo |
12/14/09 |
In trying to redoing a few aspects of the website, primarily the front page of the domain and the new Fantasy Games section, I'll need a new logo to center things around. There are 16 samples on this message board thread to comment on. I expect to take parts from each logo to make the final one. There may finally be an ASFL2 store when all is said and done.
|
| College Bowl Pickem |
12/12/09 |
With Army's loss to Navy today, UCLA earned the final bowl berth and College Bowl Pickem is now ready to go. Register for the game, but be sure to type your name as it appears in the ASFL2 Member's database (First Last format, case sensitive). From there submit your picks by December 19th at 4:27 PM EST. You can review and change your picks up until the deadline. Once the deadline passes, keep checking the game page for scoring updates. I'll be updating the bowl results as soon as I can once they're known and the game standings & championship points projections will update automatically with them.
If you have any problems registering, submitting or otherwise feel free to email me for help.

| Help Needed: Recruiting Team |
12/4/09 |
I'm looking for volunteers to help with recruiting while I focus on improving the website and coding the various fantasy games that need to start going on the website. Now is the most important time of the year for recruiting, those who can help please reply to this thread on the message board. Suggestions for improvement are also welcome.
|
| New Fantasy Hockey Standings Available |
12/2/09 |
After a few weeks of development the overall Fantasy Hockey standings pages have been completed. They are arguably the most advanced feature on the website and are a major step in a positive direction.
Each league's regular season standings, weekly win/loss record standings, rotisserie standings & championship point allotment will be updated weekly with playoff results and final league rankings updated immediately following the update of their official results. The rotisserie standings can even be sorted by category to see how your score is totaled up.
The overall metrics will be updated weekly as well as the overall standings by record, weekly win/loss record, roto ratio and combination score will be available with the corresponding would-be bonus championship points shown also. League strength rankings are also available each week.
Perhaps the best result of this advancement is that it will allow me to update the championship standings earned at the end of the season within a day or two instead of the usual week-long marathon of work.
As an added bonus, the complete standings of all 98 ASFL2 Fantasy Hockey teams by each statistical category will be available each week along with the complete rotisserie standings of all teams. Now you can really see how your team stacks up against everyone else.
Finally, each of the ASFL2 leagues will have it's entire schedule available and can be sorted by league as a whole or by individual team.
I hope to finish the same set up for all Fantasy Basketball leagues in the next week to ten days.

| Trade Vetoing Memo |
11/19/09 |
With the many new faces in the league and a flurry of activity around the Fantasy Football trade deadline, I need to touch upon the veto procedure again, this is from the four draft sport rule pages:
|
Veto Procedure:
The ASFL2 commissioner will only be direct commissioner of two individual ASFL2 Fantasy Football leagues. For that reason all potential veto suggestions need to be emailed to the commissioner if the trade isn't taking place in League 1 or League 2. Assistant commissioner's do not have the power to veto or put through a trade in Yahoo!.
The commissioner has set up all ASFL2 leagues to send Yahoo! transaction emails to a secondary email account which also receives website form submissions or confirmations. All trades are analyzed by the commissioner when received. If the commissioner feels at first glance a trade isn't fair he will post a poll for the trade on the message board in the Big Four Fantasy Sports section. If upon first glance at a trade the commissioner feels a trade might be unfair he'll wait for further feedback email agreeing with his notion from the league in question. If a few emails are received a veto poll is posted on the message board. All emails to the commissioner need to be sent directly to theasfl@yahoo.com, any emails through Yahoo! will be sent to an address that cannot be replied from and the emails may not be seen in time for action. If a trade veto goes to the league message board a notification will be posted on the Yahoo! league message board as a warning.
If the poll thread produces a result which the commissioner decides agrees with a veto the commissioner will sign onto the appropriate Yahoo! ID to veto the trade. The commissioner will never allow a trade before it's expiration time or interfere with a trade before it's expiration time otherwise. This is done to ensure consistency between trades amongst all leagues as they are observed by assistant commissioners of different activity levels.
|
| New ASFL2 Drafts Application |
7/30/09 |
The new ASFL2 Drafts Application is now ready to go public. The informational thread on the message board has details on features and what it can do. The password for Scott Ludeviks has been temporarily set to "test" so that all members of the league can test the application out and bring up any questions now before the drafts start around August 16th.
