ASFL2 Rules - Bonus Points

Explanation

Bonus Points are meant to reward league members for activity with the league, helping me do my job and generally making my life easier. Without a little help and cooperation from the masses I would have a much tougher time doing my job and may not be able to do it at all. They can also be taken away from a member for making my job more difficult or breaking league rules.

A running tally of bonus points earned through the year is kept in the League Office section of the league message board. The standings thread also gives the sources of bonus points earned.

How to Earn Them

There will be various ways to earn bonus points, with new ways being created often. Ways not listed directly here may be announced on the message board.
Participating in Unofficial Games on the Website or League Message Board
Posting on the League Message Board
Correctly answering Trivia Questions on the League Message Board
Completing Assignments from the Commissioner
Joining Official ASFL2 Fantasy Games prior to the information being placed on the website and/or emailed out.
Replying to the Preferred Draft Times information on the message board prior to the information being placed on the website and/or emailed out.

There aren't too many ways to lose bonus points, but here is a simple list:
Spamming the ASFL2 Message Board or an ASFL2 league Yahoo! message board. If in doubt, ask the commisioner
Not responding to or a delayed response to fantasy game information. All members are required to tell the commissioner they aren't participating in a game if they plan to not participate. Not knowing if someone is going to participate leads to large problems in the logistics of setting games up.
Leaving an ASFL2 fantasy league on Yahoo! without informing the commissioner.
Joining a Fantasy Game without a means of identification. (Either the team name, Yahoo! ID, email or actual name should be able to be seen through Yahoo!)
Giving out ASFL2 fantasy game information that shouldn't be released.
Cheating in a message board game.
General abrasiveness, lying, aggressiveness, trying to run another member out of the league or anything else along those lines.

What They're For

Bonus points wouldn't be much of a reward unless the commissioner gave something in return. Here are the benefits of bonus points:
They're factored into the final overall ASFL2 Championship Standings. The final point total of the leading member after all championship points for a season have been earned will set the limit of bonus points to be factored into the standings at 10 percent of his score.*
They're the primary tiebreaker in the ASFL2 Championship Standings.
If I need to fill holes in leagues in an ASFL2 Fantasy Game that features drafts, I'll give out second teams in the game to member's based on bonus point totals. Those with two teams in a sport earn the ASFL2 championship point amount based on the better performance in each method to earn points in the game; i.e. better regular season finishing position, better weekly win/loss record, better playoff result, etc.
They're a tiebreaker in most ASFL2 fantasy games in one form or another.
They're a primary means of qualification for the ASFL2 Third League of the ASASFL leagues which features the most active members of ASFL2. Should you qualify for the league, you'll have a chance to win the league and the trophy that goes along with it.
*If the league leader has earned 500 points after points from all 22 league games have been factored in, 50 bonus points will be the most that can be factored in to a member's championship point total. If the leader had 100 bonus points, his final total for the season would be 550 points. If he had 50 bonus points, his final season total would be 550 points. If he had 34 bonus points, his final total for the season would be 534 points.
