Congrats to Michael Flanagan for winning NFL Pickem with 8089 points, or 31.6 per game. He edged out Mike Brekke in second place by nine points, after Brekke gained 65 points on him in the final week. Chad Gumm rounded out the podium with 7949 points, a single point ahead of Nathan Susanto with Colt Ciccone just three points back of Susanto in fifth place.
John Wright managed the most week wins for the season with three and earned the two extra championship points for topping the week win standings. Aaron Gold, Anders Nilsson & Brian Secord earned 1.5 championship points for tying for second with two week wins.
Charles Wishon had the highest pick percentage at 0.680 on a 174-82 record, two games ahead of Mike Brekke and three ahead of Colt Ciccone, Mark Yothers, Chris Wanned & Michael Lytle. Despite toppping the percentage charges, Wishon finished just 11th in the overall standings. The overall winner, Michael Flanagan, finished four games back in a tie for seventh place.
John Wright earned the most championship points from the game with 53.69. Mike Brekke was second with 52.42, while Nathan Susanto (50.73), Aaron Gold (50.69), and Michael Flanagan (50.64) also topping 50 championship points earned.

Dave Simon had the high score for week 16 of NFL Pickem at 644 points. He was the only member to reach 15-1 for the week and 65%+ of the available points to earn 0.67 championship points. David Shoemake Sr. finished second at 608 points as the only member to go 14-2 and the best of six to earn 0.33 championship points for reaching 60%+ of the available points for the week. The two week winners were the only members to earn the full championship point for topping 85% correct. Eleven went 13-3 and 16 went 12-4 to earn 0.67 championship points for reaching 75% correct while 23 went 11-5 to earn 0.33 championship points for topping 66% correct.
The 60 championship points events from this week have been updated in the championship standings. Don't forget that the projected championship standings are also updated with game results each week.
Just one more week of the season remains. As usual, there are only games on Sunday in the final week. The 1 PM ET window has nine games, the 4:25 PM ET window has six and Dallas at Washington finishes things off at 8:20 PM ET on NBC.

In an effort to save time for someone who thoroughly needs to sleep, I'm cross-posting this from somewhere else. There are likely to be delays in the usual standings updates this week and with the results for College Football Pickem as well due to the below.
My aunt finally lost her battle with breast cancer (174.9) at 5:25 Monday morning. She was only 65. She won plenty of the battles over 12 years, but the end of the war was inevitable. The last few weeks (and/or month) were a struggle and I'm glad she's at peace and left peacefully.
I'm baffled to come to the realization that she only spent two and three-quarters less years (about 10% of my life) of my life living with cancer (12) than without it (14 and three-quarters). But I am glad, for perhaps selfish reasons, that I had ample time to prepare for today.
I've learned plenty from her over the years, but from this whole ordeal my advice to everyone else is fivefold. First and foremost, if you (or someone you know) are ever diagnosed with cancer, take care of it right away. She waited six months, who knows what that time could have prevented. Second, you never know when your last time seeing a loved one will be. I knew it was a possibility any time I left, but about 12 hours before she passed I still thought she had a week left. I always made sure I exited the same way regardless. Third, get the family affairs in order well before the end. Fourth, put all grudges on hold when someone's in need, there are more important things in life and then there are only a few things that matter nearing death. Lastly, and least importantly, be careful with hospice care. They can have a limited period of time where they're getting paid and if it's home care they can have limitations to their abilities. Do as much research as possible before entrusting them to care for someone.
On a somewhat related note, always take time out of your day for humor. It's the one universal positive that can supersede whatever else is going on. Sleep's fairly important too (as much as high school me didn't believe that).

In other news, with the NHL cancelling games through December 30th, Fantasy Hockey is one more cancelled game week away from being cancelled itself. Currently, week 12 would be the first week of the regular season with week 22 being the final week of the regular season. Week 12 is the latest a 12 team league could start and see every team play every other team in its league. I'll be monitoring the situation as best I can.

Robert Flatt had the high score for week 11 of NFL Pickem at 595 points as he became the second person in game history to record a perfect week after Aaron Gold went 13-0 in week 7. Flatt was the only member to reach 70% of the available points for the week to earn a full championship point. Kevin Cheek earned the second week win at 570 points despite going 13-1. Patrick Gentry was third at 567 points despite adding his name to the list of those to record a perfect week as he and Flatt set the new record at 14-0. Both Gentry and Flatt earned two full championship points for the perfect week while 21 behind them went 13-1 and 23 went 12-2 to earn a single championship point for reaching 85%+ of their picks correct. Seventeen went 11-3 to earn 0.67 championship points for reaching 75%+ correct and seven went 10-4 to earn 0.33 championship points for reaching two-thirds of their picks correct. Only three members to submit at least 12 picks for the week failed to earn a bonus for their pick percentage. Ten members behind Flatt managed to top 546 points to earn 0.67 championship points for reaching 65%+ of the available points for the week while 29 behind them managed to top 504 points to earn 0.33 championship points for reaching 60%+ of the available points.
The 112 championship points events from this week have been updated in the championship standings. Don't forget that the projected championship standings are also updated with game results each week.
