Standardized Points Within League (STDPTS):-
a measure of a team's point total versus those of the rest of that team's individual ASFL2 league using standardization. Take a team's point total then subtract the average team point total for that team's league and divide by the standard deviation. The higher the number the more dominant a team was against the rest of it's league in terms of points. If a team's score was positive then the team scored more points than the league average. If a team's score was negative the team scored less points than the league average. Standardization is the method used for standardized testing scoring. Standard Deviation is a value designed to determine the dispersion of a collection of numbers.
Standardized Points Overall (SLGPTS)-
a measure of a team's point total versus those of all teams in other ASFL2 leagues of the same size, including the team's own league. This uses the same ideas as STDPTS only over a different, larger set of numbers. Take a team's point total, subtract the average team point total of all leagues of the team's league size (12 or 14 team), then divide by the standard deviation for that league size.
Combination Score-
the metric to combine all possible analysis stats used for all ASFL2 draft leagues. The football version combines record, points comparison within league, points comparison overall and league strength. A team's record is taken into account when compared to the .500 mark. The number of games above or below .500, 6-6-1 in this case (subtract a team's win total plus half of it's tie total from 6.5 to determine the number of games above or below .500), is multiplied by 0.1 to factor into the equation. That value is added to the STDPTS and SLGPTS values then added to the team in question's league factor to determine the Combination Score.
League Factor (LGFCTR)-
the metric used to determine league strength for ASFL2 football leagues. Each league is ranked based on average points per team, standardized score and SLGPTS average rank. The league's standardized score is designed to compare a league's average point total to those of the other leagues with the same amount of teams. The league average point per team value is subtracted from the average team point value for all teams in leagues of the same number of teams then divided by the standard deviation for that set of leagues. To determine SLPAVG, the overall ranking of each team in a league in terms of SLGPTS is added up then divided by the number of teams to determine the average SLGPTS rank for the league. Once all three rankings for a league are determined the rank total is subtracted from 32 then that value is subtracted by the average rank total for all leagues and divided by the total of the lowest rank total and highest rank total for a value that can be factored into the combination score equation.
