| Red Sox trade OF Crisp to Royals (AP) |

Outfielder Coco Crisp was traded from the Boston Red Sox to the Kansas City Royals on Wednesday for reliever Ramon Ramirez. Royals general manager Dayton Moore called the switch-hitting Crisp a "championship-caliber player" who will help Kansas City move forward. Crisp is a career .280 batter in seven seasons with the Cleveland and the Red Sox. |

Tampa Bay Buccaneers leading rusher Earnest Graham will miss the rest of the season after injuring his right ankle during last week's victory over the Minnesota Vikings. Graham limped off the field after his only carry against the Vikings. The Bucs said he hurt his ankle, but did not release specifics about the injury.

The LPGA Tour will offer three fewer official events in 2009, the latest result of the global economic downturn and its affect on pro sports. The 2009 schedule released Wednesday has 31 events -- 20 in the United States and 11 internationally -- not including the Solheim Cup. Tournaments off the schedule include the ADT Championship, which starts Thursday and closes this year's slate. |

The lawyer for three New Orleans Saints players facing suspension says none of them took steroids. The three were accused of taking a banned diurectic and went before an NFL appeals hearing Tuesday. David Cornwell represents running back Deuce McAllister and defensive linemen Will Smith and Charles Grant.
