November 19 -- The early signing period for the National Letter of Intent (NLI) ended today, and our databases are now online with the first round of information we have gathered or received for men's and women's recruits (both early commitments and others) for the 2009-2010 season. The lists have about 400 men's and 450 women's players and will grow fairly rapidly over the next few months.

WLax: Cal Lacrosse Signs 12 to National Letters of Intent
BERKELEY, Calif. - The California lacrosse program signed 12 players to National Letters of Intent, Golden Bears head coach Theresa Sherry announced today. The large recruiting class includes England under-19 national team player Camilla Hayes, four players from the state of California and Clemmy Little, the younger sister of current Cal senior midfielder Ghillie Little.

WLax: First Florida Lacrosse Signing Class Announced
Head Lacrosse Coach Amanda O'Leary announced the first recruiting class for the University of Florida lacrosse program Wednesday. The 24 member class will bring extraordinary experience from the nation's best high school and club lacrosse programs. Among the signees, 11 played for high schools that ranked among the top 25 programs in the final 2008 LaxPower national rankings. Additionally, seven were named to US Lacrosse All-America Teams as juniors.

HANOVER, N.H. - Head coach Bill Wilson and the Dartmouth men's lacrosse team has released its 15-game regular-season slate, which includes five games against teams that made appearances in the last year's NCAA Tournaments.

C.W. Post Announces Lacrosse Schedule for 2009
BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Nov. 20, 2008) - C.W. Post head men's lacrosse coach John Jez released the schedule for the upcoming season on Thursday. The Pioneers will face six 2008 nationally ranked teams, including national champion New York Institute of Technology. The Pioneers are slated to play 14 games, beginning on Feb. 14 at Wingate University followed by a meeting at Catawba College on Feb. 17.

Buffalo Reporter, NLL Hall of Famer Borrelli Dies
The NLL says that "it is with great sadness that we share this news with you this morning. The Buffalo News has reported that Tom Borrelli passed away earlier this morning at the age of 51. Tom is the first sportswriter to be recognized by the NLL Hall of Fame. The league's writer of the year award, the Tom Borrelli Award, was named in his honor in 2005."

Rochester, Ontario Teams to Compete for Brogden Cup

WLax: Spiders Named to Team Canada; Other UR Fall News
University of Richmond, Va. - Senior attack Mandy Friend and incoming freshman Caitlin Fifield were both selected as members of the 2009 Canadian Women's Field Lacrosse Team roster. At the most recent World Cup, held in Annapolis, Md. in 2005, Canada placed fourth. Canada has finished as high as third in the history of the event.

Loyola Lacrosse Signs Seven Recruits for 2009-2010
Baltimore, Md. - Loyola head men's lacrosse coach Charley Toomey announced Tuesday the signing of seven student-athletes to play at Evergreen beginning in the 2009-10 academic year. The positional breakdown for the class of 2013 is three midfielders, three attackmen and one defender.

RMU Lacrosse Announces 2009 Schedule and Captains
Moon Township, Pa. (Nov.18, 2008) -- The Robert Morris University men's lacrosse team announced its 2009 schedule and captains for the upcoming season. The 2009 season will consist of 16 contests, including nine home games. Lacrosse Loses a Superfan, the Inimitable Tom Lener
Lacrosse has lost perhaps the biggest fan the sport has ever known. Tom Lener, whom I once described as an "inimitable font of lacrosse knowledge and best fan the game ever had," died on Sunday. Although he never played lacrosse, it was one of his passions, and Joe Lombardi dubbed him a "superfan" in a Journal News article in 2004.

NY Titans Bring Lacrosse to Prudential Center
New York - November 18, 2008 -- The New York Titans professional indoor lacrosse franchise today announced that it will play five of its seven home games during the 2009 season at the Prudential Center in downtown Newark, NJ. Oberlin Mourns Loss of Team Founder Hugh Robertson
November 14 - The Oberlin College athletics department would like to extend its deepest sympathies to the family and friends of former lacrosse great Hugh Robertson, who passed away earlier this month at the age of 87. Robertson is credited for starting the men's lacrosse program at Oberlin, organizing the first game west of the Appalachian Mountains on April 12, 1941.

NEW LONDON, Conn. -- Head Coach David Cornell has released the 2009 Connecticut College men's lacrosse schedule. The Camels are coming off of an exciting season that saw the team post a 10-6 record with a 5-4 mark in NESCAC play. US Lacrosse Announces First U-15 Nat'l Championship
BALTIMORE - US Lacrosse announced that the organization will host a national championship at the under-15 level. The 2009 US Lacrosse U-15 National Championship will be held July 6-10, 2009 at Cedar Lane Sports Park near Baltimore, Maryland. Sixty-four teams (32 boys', 32 girls') who believe they have what it takes to be the best in the country will compete through pool and bracket play, with the ultimate winner being crowned as the US Lacrosse U-15 National Champion.
